SV650 - Getting Closer

The SV650 Project as it sits on the workbench. Visually there's not too much progress externally but the more observant will notice the almost finished aluminum fuel tank poking out underneath the fibreglass body.

This is a piece that we have re-designed for the front subframe and lockstop mounts. This is the steel bracket that will get TIG welded onto the headstock.

The issues we had were that the existing top mount was too high and would interfere with the ignition barrel on the top yolk and the bottom mount needed to positioned further out from the headstock to allow the lockstops to align perfectly with the fork legs.

Below you can see the position of the new bracket and how much lower it is. This also requires a small re-design of the front subframe.

And finally, the finished battery box, now with mounts in the front to hold the rectifier. We shall see how this one holds up when we get the bike running, but the feeling is that we may need to go up to 3mm Aluminum.
