SV650 - Mold 7 Complete

The final piece of bodywork is curing as we speak in the mold, so its time to get some more photos up of the mold preperation. The same processes as before, but this has been a little more intricate due to the intake area and light surround, so the mold has been made in 4 pieces.

This took the best part of a day to add all the flanges to. In order to get a perfect fit for the screen, I sacraficed an old one on the mold.

The outside of the 4-part mold curing before a trim and removal.

The final mold released, ready for a clean up, light sand and polish.

The mold reassembled with release agent applied, all ready to be laid up and below, the gel coat going on. Hopefully the final part will come out good. I'm not too confident following the layup process, due to the complex surfaces on this piece, but we won't know until its released later!

Now its time to really get the project motoring and finished fairly soon. The list for parts to finish the project is getting ever shorter, and with the large, time consuming section of making molds/bodywork over, we should be able to make more notable changes quicker and be able to update more frequently with new photos/progress.
